Lao Family Community of Minnesota Inc., the oldest Hmong nonprofit in Minnesota, through funding from the Minnesota Department of Health, has developed five HIV/AIDS video vignettes to be used with the Hmong community.
The videos were developed as an educational tool and seek to dispel the widely held belief that Hmong people cannot contract HIV/AIDS.
The vignettes, in Hmong and/or English, can be spliced into recreational and educational videos, supplement the teachings of health educators, or used as public service announcements on television and radio programs with Hmong audiences.
The video vignettes appeal to all age groups and include drama, rap music, a Hmong physician, and a dance routine. Each vignette is approximately 2 minutes in length. All five vignettes are contained in one video. There is no charge to receive a copy of the video, however, shipping and handling charges may apply.
