Warm reception for 'Wonders of Southeast Asia'

The Providence Journal-Bulletin (Providence, RI) - January 18, 2002, Friday

Chue Toua Kue, above, a Hmong master of the flute, performs at the Tsetse Gallery, on Orange Street, in Providence, during last night's opening reception for "The Wonders of Southeast Asia," which features needlework, sculpture, paintings, music and dance of the Hmong, Laotian and Cambodian communities.  At top, show-goers examine some of the art on display. At right, shopper Thao Te looks over needlework by fellow Providence resident Ab Thao (in the dark-blue jacket), an exhibitor in the show. The exhibit runs through Feb. 9; for hours, see the gallery's listing under Art, Page C-8.    JOURNAL PHOTOS / RUBEN W. PEREZ
